HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Holland city officials are hoping that a four-hour closure of the Washington Avenue Tunnel in both directions under the main runway of West Michigan Regional Airport during the afternoon commute will be the last such blockade needed for a 50 thousand-dollar lighting upgrade and general maintenance of the eight-year-old structure. Crews will be taking final baseline light level measurements and making lamp adjustments from 4 PM to 8 PM. Lincoln Avenue is the recommended detour. Work was supposed to be completed by mid-November, but “unforeseen delays” kept barricades up in that area through last Tuesday.
