Grand Valley State swept a pair of basketball games from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio on Saturday. Ryan Sabin’s 18-point performance gave the men a 68-48 decision. Briauna Taylor tallied 18 with 12 rebounds as the women won in overtime, 57-52. The two Lakers teams entertain Tiffin at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale on Thursday evening.
State major-college basketball on Saturday saw Michigan State trounce visiting Nicholls, 84-39; Michigan win at Bradley, 74-66; Western Michigan beat visiting Oakland, 76-72; and Detroit fell at Pittsburgh, 74-61. Central Michigan is home to Niagara on Sunday afternoon.
