High School Football Along Lakeshore Tonight; Pitching Dominates Baseball Results


UNDATED (WHTC) - The second week of the high school football season along the Lakeshore is this evening. Other match-ups include Forest Hills Central at Holland, Holland Christian at South Christian, West Ottawa at Grand Ledge, Coopersville at Hamilton, and Watervliet at Fennville.


Bruce Chen allowed just four hits with four strikeouts in eight innings, while Eric Hosmer’s bloop single in the fourth frame plated the only run of the game, as Kansas City blanked the visiting Tigers last night, 1-0. The Royals look to sweep Detroit out of Kauffman Stadium this evening, with coverage on 1450 WHTC following high school football.

Mike Fiers scattered four hits with six strikeouts in over seven innings, pitching visiting Milwaukee past the Cubs last night, 3-1. The Brewers look to sweep Chicago out of Wrigley Field today.

Exhibition football ends for the Lions and Bears tonight, with Detroit hosting Buffalo and Chicago traveling to Cleveland.


The major college football season starts this evening, with Central Michigan entertaining Southeast Missouri State, and Eastern Michigan visiting Ball State.
