SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - The combination of weather conditions, a layered roof, and inventory inside of a 40 thousand square-foot South Haven warehouse made bringing a fire there under control a four-hour ordeal late yesterday for about 50 firefighters from 10 departments, including Saugatuck, Lee and Ganges townships. They were able to keep the flames contained to a single unit full of party supplies at the D&L Warehouse on 73½ Street. There were no injuries reported. Investigators don’t believe that the fire was suspicious in nature, but didn’t immediately determine its cause. Initial dollar-amount estimates of damage are at 40 grand and rising.
