WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) - A 34-year-old Zeeland man suffered injuries to his arm and hand when his motorcycle slid under a farm truck yesterday afternoon. Authorities say that Matthew Harmsen was eastbound on New Holland Street when he tried to pass the larger vehicle, but was surprised when the truck decided to turn left onto 104^th Avenue. His machine slid under the truck, narrowly missing its tires, and sheriff’s deputies say that Harmsen escaped further injury due to being helmeted at the time. He was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment. The truck driver, 37-year-old Eric Alferink of Holland Township, was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
