NUNICA, MI (WHTC) - A three-vehicle pileup occurred on the I-96 off-ramp to 112^th Avenue south of Nunica last night. Authorities say that 66-year-old Stanley Ashford of Muskegon never slowed his van down when he slammed into the car of 58-year-old Maureen VanKlompenberg of Fruitport, who was stopped waiting to make a turn. The van then careened into the SUV of 58-year-old Joleen Key of Alto before stopping. Ashford and his 67-year-old wife Quinzola were taken to the Mercy Health Partners facility in Muskegon for treatment of non-life threatening injuries; there was no word of any ailments to the other two drivers. An investigation continues.
