Fielder, Stafford Lead Detroit Teams to Victory Over Baltimore's Best

UNDATED (WHTC) - Prince Fielder slugged a pair of two-run homers, including the game-winner in the eighth inning, as he powered the Tigers past visiting Baltimore last night, 5-3. The series at Comerica Park in Detroit continues this evening. Coverage on 1450 WHTC begins at 6:40 PM.

Todd Frazier’s two-run homer highlighted a five-run fourth inning for Cincinnati, and the Reds went on to beat the visiting Cubs last night, 7-3. The series at The Great American Ballpark continues this afternoon.

Salvador Perez’ two-run double in the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie, and Kansas City defeated the visiting White Sox last night, 4-2. The series at Kauffman Stadium continues this evening.

Marcelo Carreno and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout, as the Whitecaps blanked the Silver Hawks in South Bend last night, 2-0. West Michigan hosts Great Lakes this evening to open up a three-game series at Fifth Third Ballpark.

Matthew Stafford threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Lions to a 27-12 exhibition victory at Baltimore last night. Detroit travels to Oakland next Saturday evening.

The Bears welcome Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins to Soldier Field in Chicago for pre-season action tonight.
