LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan's unemployment rate in July jumped four-tenths of a percent to nine-percent, a level not seen since January of this year. State labor officials said even with the increase, the jobless rate is well below last year's level of 10.6-percent for July. Last month was the third straight month the unemployment rate has gone up. Since April, it's risen by seven-tenths of a percent.
