HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Another “sister city” partnership for Holland may be in the works. Among the items on this evening’s monthly meeting agenda for the Holland International Relations Commission at City Hall is such a proposal by Nagahama, Japan. The community of over 122 thousand is located about 200 miles due west of Toyko, and is known as a tourist town for its various attractions. For the last 16 years, Holland has had a sister city partnership with Santiago de Querètaro, Mexico, and a visit by officials from that town is in the near future. City Council will have the final say on any such future partnerships for cultural and commercial promotion.
