BURNIPS, MI (WHTC) - A 17-year-old Zeeland man is in the Allegan County Jail after allegedly “shooting up” a house and a truck north of Burnips on Monday night. Authorities claim that Daniel Loew was upset at an apparent business deal when he fired several rounds from a 22-caliber rifled into the home and the vehicle off of 146th Avenue near 34th Street. The residents inside were upstairs when the shots rang out and were not struck by the bullets. While state troopers were getting information from the victims, Loew’s truck drove by, and he was pulled over a mile away without incident. The weapon allegedly used in the assault, along with ammunition, was recovered in the pickup. He was arraigned on various charges that could lead to as much as five years in prison, and remains held on 10 thousand dollars bond. An unnamed 16-year-old boy in Loew’s vehicle at the time was released to his parents’ custody; he could face juvenile charges in the case.
