GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - Sometimes having items under lock and key isn’t secure enough.
That apparently is a lesson that tenants of storage units in Grand Haven and Nunica have apparently learned following a rash of burglaries between 10 PM on Wednesday night and 6 AM yesterday morning. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Ditmar, complexes on 124th Avenue near Cleveland Street and on 168th Avenue near Robbins Road were victimized. Locks were broken, and various items such as household goods, jewelry, sporting goods and small appliances were stolen. Investigators haven’t estimated a dollar amount of the losses, as the total number of units victimized is at least 35 units thus far.
No suspects are in custody, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, www.mosotips.com).
