LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Governor Rick Snyder's office announced on Thursday morning that US flags across the state and in waters off of Michigan's shores should fly at half staff throughout this coming Monday, August 13th, in honor of US Marine Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Price. The 27-year-old Zeeland man was killed during combat in Afghanistan on July 29, along with a fellow Leatherneck from Florida. Price's body returned to the Lakeshore on Wednesday, with visitation slated on Thursday afternoon and early evening at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home on 16th Street, before a Saturday morning funeral at Central Wesleyan Church and burial at Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Holland Mayor Kurt Dykstra already has ordered flags in the City of Holland to be at half-staff through Saturday; flags nationwide are at half-staff through Friday in honor of those slain during last weekend's Sikh temple shootings in Wisconsin.
