HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The annual National Night Out is this evening, and for the first time, the city of Holland will be holding activities on this first Tuesday in August in conjunction with other communities across the country. The Tulip City had held its 20 previous Nights Out the evening before, in order to not conflict with Primary Elections. Tonight’s festivities at Kollen Park are highlighted by the weekly summer American Legion Band concert, along with activities, displays, presentations, refreshments and more. Grand Haven and Coopersville are also holding similar events this evening. Organizers say that the National Night Out campaign aims to combat crime and blight through increased community involvement.
