HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Plans have been finalized for the funeral of Marine Gunnery Sergeant Daniel Price of Zeeland, who died while fighting in Afghanistan on July 29th. A procession from West Michigan Regional Airport begins tomorrow morning at 10 AM to the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home on 16th Street, where visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. A 10 AM funeral at Central Wesleyan Church on Saturday will precede another procession, this one to Pilgrim Home Cemetery for burial.
Members of Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas plan to protest the funeral; a human fence is being organized through Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/events/120083191471697/) to shield the family. Mayor Kurt Dykstra has ordered flags in Holland lowered to half-staff from Wednesday through Saturday to honor Sgt. Price; such flags were already ordered by the President to half-staff through Friday to honor those slain at the Sikh temple shootings in Wisconsin.
