Prince Fielder drove in four runs with a homer, double and single, and Anibal Sanchez went six innings for his first American League win as the Tigers pounded Cleveland, 10-2, at Comerica Park Friday night. The win kept Detroit 2-1/2 games behind Chicago in the American League Central. Meanwhile, Alex Rios belted two homers, including a two-run walkoff shot in the bottom of the 10th, as the White Sox rallied to defeat the Angels, 8-6. The Tigers and Indians meet again tonight at Comerica, with broadcast time on 1450 WHTC at 6:40.
Elsewhere, the Cubs lost to the Dodgers in L-A, 6-1. In the Midwest League, the Whitecaps lost to Lake County, 5-3. They travel to Lansing tonight to open a series with the Lugnuts.
