ALLEGAN (WHTC) - Allegan County authorities are trying to determine what happened to a patrol rifle that’s been reported missing from a Sheriff’s Department patrol car. The Colt .223 patrol rifle was reported missing by the deputy Thursday when he reported to work and did not find it in his patrol car.  Authorities say the last time the weapon was seen was early Monday morning behind the Wayland police department headquarters as it was being transferred from one patrol car to another at the end of a shift. Tips may be submitted to Silent Observer, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department or Wayland Police. A reward is being offered.
