King Felix Handles Tigers Again; Cubs & Sox Lose Too

Felix Hernandez scattered four hits with two strikeouts in seven innings, pitching visiting Seattle past the Tigers last night, 9-1. It was his ninth straight win over the Bengals since 2006. Detroit looks to avoid being swept by the Mariners in this afternoon’s series finale at Comerica Park, with coverage on 1450 WHTC beginning at 12:40 PM.

David Freese homered and drove in three runs, as visiting St. Louis beat the Cubs yesterday, 5-1. Chicago is off until playing at Philadelphia tomorrow evening.

Kila Ka’aihue’s single in the 14th inning capped a three-run Oakland comeback, as the A’s defeated the visiting White Sox yesterday, 5-4. Chicago hosts Boston to begin a four-game series at US Cellular Field tonight.
