ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - Prospective new owners for some of nearly 400 canines seized in a raid of a Cheshire Township home earlier this month will converge at the Allegan County Animal Shelter for a “meet and greet” session tonight. Officials screened more than 13 hundred applications before issuing invitations, and shelters across the state are handling adoptions for their new homes. George and Cheri Burke are charged with animal cruelty for running a puppy mill under poor conditions and are currently free on bond.
