HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Although Holland is known as the Tulip City, it can also continue to have a “Tree City USA” designation on its city limit signs. The Arbor Day Foundation yesterday announced that Holland has earned this honor for a 32nd year for its commitment to urban forestry. City officials say that the designation came as a result of meeting program standards of having a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a community forestry program with an annual expenditure of at least two dollars per capita, and having an special observance.
