UNDATED (WHTC) - The Tigers open up a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park in Detroit this evening, with coverage on 1450 WHTC beginning at 6:40 PM.

Joe Mather’s two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning enabled the Cubs to edge visiting St. Louis last night, 3-2. The series at Wrigley Field in Chicago continues this evening.

Jake Peavy spun a three-hit shutout, striking out five in the process, as he pitched the White Sox to a 4-0 victory at Oakland last night. The series at the Coliseum continues this evening.


Aaron Westlake’s two-run double in a three-run fifth inning for the Whitecaps led to West Michigan’s 6-1 victory over visiting Beloit last night. The Caps go for the series sweep at Fifth Third Ballpark this afternoon.


Mike Smith made 39 saves as he backstopped visiting Phoenix to a 4-0 victory over the Blackhawks last night. The Coyotes win the playoff series, four games to two.


Paul George scored 27 points with 10 rebounds, as Indiana handled the visiting Pistons last night, 103-97. Detroit is home to Philadelphia on Thursday evening.
