Tigers, Caps, Pistons Win on Tuesday; Cubs, Sox, Wings, Hawks Lose

UNDATED (WHTC) - Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder stroked back-to-back RBI singles in the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie, and the Tigers went on to win at Kansas City last night, 3-1. Detroit goes for the series sweep of the Royals in Kauffman Stadium this evening, with broadcast time on 1450 WHTC at 7:45 PM.

Hanley Ramirez’ three-run homer in the eighth inning broke a 2-2 tie, and Miami went on to defeat the visiting Cubs last night, 5-2. The series at Marlins Park continues this evening.

Nolan Reimold and JJ Hardy hit back-to-back homers in the sixth inning to break, which provided all of visiting Baltimore’s offense in a 3-2 victory over the White Sox last night. The series at US Cellular Field in Chicago continues this evening.

Tommy Collier and two relievers teamed on a four-hitter, as they pitched the Whitecaps to a 5-2 triumph at Lake County last night. West Michigan goes for the series sweep of the Captains at Classic Park in suburban Cleveland this evening.

Pekka Rinne stopped 40 shots to lead visiting Nashville to a 3-1 decision over the Red Wings last night. The Predators lead the playoff series, three games to one, and can eliminate Detroit with a victory at home on Friday evening.

Mikkel Boedker’s goal at the 13:15 mark of overtime lifted visiting Phoenix past the Blackhawks last night, 3-2. The Coyotes lead the playoff series, two games to one, with game four at the United Center in Chicago tomorrow evening.

Brandon Knight tossed in 28 points as the Pistons romped past visiting Cleveland last night, 116-77. NBA play this evening finds Detroit in Atlanta and the Chicago Bulls traveling to Charlotte.
