HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A busy night is ahead for the Holland City Council. Highlighting this evening’s meeting agenda is the formal presentation of the fiscal 2013 municipal budget, with a May 2nd public hearing and vote slated on the nearly 19 million-dollar general fund spending plan that includes a seven tenths of a mill tax hike and the layoff of eight employees. Also before council tonight is the renewal of the Semco Energy natural gas franchise deal for the next three decades; approval of a tentative contract with unionized BPW office workers; and finalizing the installation of an artificial playing surface at Holland Municipal Stadium for this fall.
