KALAMAZOO, MI (WHTC) - The jury in the Bret Frame murder trial yesterday heard from a number of expert and law enforcement officials, as well as from several people who saw the truck that Frame was allegedly driving on June 23rd in suburban Kalamazoo fly by them at a high rate of speed before it slammed into a stopped car, causing it to careen into a tree with such force that it killed two people inside.
When the trial resumes today in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court, defense attorneys will continue to argue that authorities can’t prove what Frame’s blood alcohol level was at the time of the crash because police did not track him down until an hour later; a witness who testified about all the variables involved in such a delay will return to the stand.
Frame is charged with two counts of second degree murder and two counts of drink driving causing death in the crash that killed driver Justin Bailey, a Hope College graduate, and passenger Mark Angelocci. The trial should go to the jury by early next week.
