ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC News) - A woman and a girl, both from Allegan, won that county's quarterly photo contests as conducted by the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Office.

In what department officials called "the closest judging yet," Jayne DeKraker's shot of "Beautiful Bluebird" captured top prize in the adult category for the summer competition. Her picture was taken in the backyard of her home. Bailey Stormzand's shot "Little Friend" earned her the youth division honors, and at age seven, she is the youngest winner to earn this accolade. Both DeKraker and Stormzand earn gift certificates from Crane's in Fennville, along with a county Heritage Trail guidebook and companion CD set. 

Officials say that the fall photo competition is underway for county residents, with a December 1st deadline for submissions. More information is available through the department's website of www.visitallegancounty.com.
