HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC News) - The kickoff to the Greater Ottawa County United Way’s annual fundraising campaign begins with the "Day of Caring" today, as nearly 800 volunteers will be spending a total of around five thousand hours in providing more than 94 thousand dollars of effort in a variety of community projects over a four-hour span across the county this morning. Agency officials will then announce this afternoon their fundraising goal, and it is expected to be noticeably higher than the 1.9 million dollars that was garnered during the 2010-11 United Way campaign.
