MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday driving period, gas prices in Wisconsin took a seven-cent dive.
The most recent Triple-A Fuel Gauge Reports shows the average price for a gallon of gas in the Badger State fell to three dollars, 31 cents last week. That’s 20 cents lower than the prices we were paying two months ago. The price of gas this week on Black Friday was still 44 cents higher than pump prices on Black Friday 2010.
The Oil Price Information Service reports Americans are on track to spend 488 billion dollars on gas this year. That would beat the record set in 2008 by 40 billion.
