LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan's population dropped by approximately 56-thousand-500 in 2010, according to new analysis of census data.  During the year about 178-thousand left the state, while 116-thousand moved here.

The top destinations for Michiganders were Florida and Texas, followed by Ohio, California, and Virginia.  Reasons cited for the moves included climate and better employment opportunities.
