KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Western Michigan University is highlighting numerous countries and cultures this week during in celebration of International Education. The week was started in effort to respond to the U.S. departments of State and Education's campaign to promote programs that would encourage students to study abroad as well as prepare American born students for a global environment.
Above is a video from "Dominican Night" on Western's campus featuring the president of the Dominican Students Organization, Edwin Balbuena. Balbuena explains the process in which Dominican students came to study at Western and the details of their student visa program.
The events are taking place on WMU's main campus through Saturday, and most are free and open to the public.
