FLINT (WKZO) -- A financial review has concluded that the City of Flint needs an emergency financial manager. This week, Governor Rick Snyder accepted a recommendation by a Department of Treasury review team that an emergency manager be appointed.
According to the review, city officials have consistently underestimated the size of the ongoing deficits in city funds and have no realistic plan to eliminate them. If an emergency manager is appointed, it would make Flint the largest local government under the control of an emergency manager.
