UNDATED (WHTC News) - Alex Avila’s double in the eighth inning plated the winning run, as the Tigers edged visiting Minnesota yesterday, 6-5. The series at Comerica Park continues tonight, with broadcast time on 1450 WHTC at 6:40.

Jeff Keppinger collected three hits, including a homer, and drove in four runs, powering visiting Houston to a 12-7 victory over the Cubs yesterday. The series at Wrigley Field continues this evening.

Alexei Ramirez and Carlos Quentin stoked back-to-back two-run hits in a decisive four-run, sixth-inning rally, as the White Sox won at Boston last night, 7-3. The series at Fenway Park continues this evening.

The Whitecaps spilt a doubleheader with Lake County in suburban Cleveland yesterday. Josue Carreno spun a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts in pitching West Michigan to victory in the opener, 3-0. Dwight Childs’ fourth-inning double knocked in the winning run as the Captains took the nightcap, 4-3. The Whitecaps begin a three-game series with Quad City at Fifth Third Ballpark this evening.
