DULUTH, Min. (KDAL) - The U-S Coast Guard has approved the new schedule for summertime lifts of the Aerial Bridge in Duluth. Beginning on the Friday before Memorial Day until the Tuesday after Labor Day, the bridge will open only on the hour and half hour for vessels under 300 gross tons except in emergencies. A similar schedule was conducted last year on a test basis and it succeeded in improving traffic flow and reduced the number of times the bridge had to lift by 23 percent.
