CASS COUNTY (WKZO) -- Investigators in Cass County have taken the boyfriend of a murder victim from Mishawaka into custody, as a person of interest in the case.
Sheriff Joseph Underwood says that 38 year-old Kim Sue Stout died as a result of strangulation. She'd been missing from her home for several days, and the Cass County Medical Examiner now estimates that she was killed on March 23rd or 24th. The case has been updated from suspicious to homicide, and further tests are being done to determine if Stout had been sexually assaulted.
The medical examiner says that he found no other injuries on the woman. Police in Cass County are working with counterparts in Indiana to solve the case, and anyone with information is asked to contact Cass County Central Dispatch at 445-1560.
