KALAMAZOO -- The clock ran out Tuesday morning for Western Michigan University's countdown to Operation Historic Moment. And historic it was, as President John Dunn announced that a 100-million dollar gift had been given to the university's medical school. It's not just 100-million dollars pledged, but 100-million dollars in cash, making it the single largest gift to any college or university in Michigan's history.
Dunn announced before giving the the unveil that Princeton, Yale and many other schools have never had the chance to accept a private donation so large. The gift which was given anonymously to the University will go to begin funding on the newly formed Western Michigan Medical School. The donation is in the top 15 largest donations ever given to a University and in the top 10 ever given to a public university according to Dunn.
