(Lansing, MI) -- Using a State Supreme Court ruling from 2001, Governor Rick Snyder has found a way to bypass Michigan voters and push through his plan to eliminate tax credits and exemptions. By adding on a 100-dollar appropriation to his tax code bill Snyder has invoked a ruling that says legislation with a state expenditure of any amount cannot be repealed by voters. House Democrats oppose the move to block a potential voter repeal of the tax changes. Democratic Representative Vicki Barnett says, "there is a natural, built-in constituency that would sign that petition."
