Troubling details about the night Miguel Cabrera was arrested last month in Florida on drunk driving charges has been made public with the release of the police report on the incident involving the Detroit first baseman.
It says Cabrera asked the arresting officer to shoot and kill him when he was told to kneel down and be handcuffed. The report also said that about a half hour before Cabrera was taken into custody, he was asked to leave a restaurant after telling the manager…quote.“You don’t know me. I will kill all of you and blow this place up.”
Cabrera’s attorney has waived the slugger’s judicial hearing set for March 16th with his next court appearance scheduled for April 15th.
Yesterday in Grapefruit League action, the Tigers lost to the Phillies 5-to-3 at Lakeland. Detroit’s spring training record is now 8-and-6.
