LANSING, MI (Metro Source) - A campaign watchdog group says that, in 2010, nearly 23 million dollars spent on political ads on television went unreported. The Michigan Campaign Finance Network blames the state's weak election disclosure laws for allowing that money, along with 70 million dollars since 2000, to be spent on behalf of candidates without being reported. The report said three candidates in 2010 won elections without spending any of their own campaign funds on the ads - Secretary of State Ruth Johnson, Supreme Court Justice Mary Beth Kelly and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Virgil Bernero.
