LANSING, MI (Metro Source) - Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer says she welcomed comments from former Senate Majority Leader Dan DeGrow, who criticized Governor Snyder for raiding the state's School Aid Fund in order to balance the budget. Senator Whitmer says that she and Republican Senator DeGrow haven't always seen eye to eye but, she appreciates DeGrow's "willingness to join the ever growing number of voices speaking out against the Governor's terribly misguided plan that leaves countless schools across Michigan teetering on the brink of bankruptcy and jeopardizes the future of Michigan's children." State lawmakers are on summer break, with no business sessions slated until after Labor Day.
