SAUGATUCK TWP., MI (WHTC News) - M-Live is reporting that the state Attorney General’s office is considering adding more charges against Saugatuck Township Clerk Jane Wright and her Deputy Clerk Lori Babinski. The nature of those charges won’t be known until a hearing on July 22. Wright and Babinski are currently facing misdemeanor counts of mishandling ballots from the May, 2010 election that prevented a recount of a two-vote passage of a millage increase meant to raise funds for legal costs in defending federal litigation filed by developer Aubrey McClendon. If convicted, Wright and Babinski could face 90 days in jail and 500 dollars in fines.
