HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - A joint study session with the Holland City Council and the Board of the Holland Board of Public Works is this evening in council chambers at City Hall. The two panels will review a comprehensive Holland Community Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy proposal. On Monday, the BPW board recommended to council an extension of a current lease agreement for land inAlleganCountythat could be the home of a “wind farm” for generating energy through turbines. A study over a year old into the feasibility of such a site is still incomplete. The two panels will also go over the status of the current fiscal year budget and issues for next year’s spending plan.
Prior to the joint study session, City Council is planning a brief, 15-minute business meeting to approve a resolution for authorizing payment of expenses so Holland Municipal Stadium can be jointly owned by the city and Holland Public Schools. The two entities had earlier agreed to share custody as part of a renovation effort for that facility.
