KALAMAZOO, MI (WHTC) - Flags around Michigan will fly at half-staff today in honor of former Congressman Howard Wolpe, who died on October 26th in Saugatuck of a heart condition. Governor Snyder ordered the flags lowered to coincide with a memorial at Miller Auditorium in Kalamazoo today for the 71-year-old. Wolpe was elected to Congress in 1978, served as a member of the Kalamazoo City Commission and was the Democratic gubernatorial nominee in 1994. There will be another memorial for Wolpe on January 19th in Washington.
