DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Western Michigan Broncos are headed to the Little Caesars Bowl after a weekend of championship games set up the oppurtunity for the Broncos. WMU accepted the invite Sunday evening and will be paired up with Purdue according to the Detroit Free Press via Mike Carmin of the Lafayette (Ind.) Journal and Courier. Also reporting Purdue to the Little Caesars Bowl is the Indianapolis Star.
WMU Athletic Director Kathy Beauregard commented “We’re proud to represent the Mid-American Conference against a prominent Big Ten opponent in front of a national audience on December 27. It is definitely a great day to be a Bronco.”
The 7-5 Broncos are headed into their 5th bowl game and are now seeking their first ever bowl victory. This will be the Broncos 3rd bowl game under Head Coach Bill Cubit. wkzo.com will have more coverage including video from the WMU awards banquet this evening.
