DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The law firm of Maki and Overum will get another 300 thousand dollars from the city of Duluth to continue the long legal process with the Fon Du Lac Band of Chippewa regarding casino payments. The Duluth City Council voted to increase the firm's cap to 1,060,000 dollars. Most councilors feel it is worth the expense since the city is owed about 12 million dollars and that amount is growing as the legal action continues. The council also approved a task force report on how hospitality tax money should be distributed. The report will no be forwarded to the administration for consideration.
