WASHINGTON (WKZO) -- Michigan continues to be a donor state when it comes to federal spending. What it means is we send more money to Washington and get back less. The national average for spending is about 11-thousand dollars per person on everything from Social Security to health and human services, to defense spending.
Michigan only gets back nine-thousand dollars. Alaska gets back the most at about 20-thousand per person, and Nevada gets the least at about seven-thousand. Michigan was 38th in the nation. Illinois ranks even lower at 44th, and Minnesota comes in at 47th.
