MARSHALL, MI (WKZO) -- Authorities now say that the pilot of that single engine tow plane that went down near Brooks Field in Marshall on Sunday has died from his injuries. The plane had just towed a glider into the sky over southern Calhoun County when it began to malfunction and the glider pilot released the cable. The plane then spiraled into a field next to the airport.
Fifty-nine-year-old John Andrew Hoffman suffered severe head injuries. He was airlifted to Sparrow Hospital where officials confirm he has died. The wreckage has been secured and the FAA will investigate a process that usually takes months.
