ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (WHBL) - The Cleveland man involved in the high speed police chase in Sheboygan County overnight has been identified. Elkhart Lake Police Chief Randy Boeldt says 31 year old Jonathan Herr was speeding while travelling through the village overnight when an Elkhart Lake officer began pursuit. The officer also observed Herr crossing the centerline, and attempted to pull over the vehicle. Herr fled, leading officers out of town to the East, then North, and back south at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. Herr managed to avoid road spikes throughout the pursuit, but eventually stopped on his own at a stop sign at Dairyland Drive and FF. Officers boxed him in, but he refused to get out of the vehicle, so officers tasered and subdued him. Herr is being held in the county jail and is facing charges of eluding, driving after revocation and 5th offense drunk driving.
