SAUGATUCK, MI (WKZO) -- In a crisis, when a few minutes could be the difference between life and death, a deal between Singapore Dunes Development and the Saugatuck Township Fire Department could be a life saver.  The developer has agreed to let the Township use a dock just inside the mouth of the Kalamazoo River.   

Currently they dock their 41-foot rescue boat up river and it can take them 10 to 15 minutes to get to the big lake when there is trouble.  Eventually Singapore Dunes will be developing that location, but they say they will always provide a spot for the rescue boat.
