FILLMORE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO) -- A 79-year-old Allegan County woman is recovering after she took on a  burglar who kicked his way into her home in the 4200 block of Filmore Road in Fillmore Township.

Deputies say the woman heard the commotion just before 1PM Thursday   and confronted the young black male, who assaulted her.  She suffered a closed head injury and was admitted to Holland Hospital in stable condition.  She still managed to give police a good description of the thief, who left without taking anything.

They are looking for a tall light skinned black male with short hair and a thin face.   He left in a grey or silver colored sedan which was occupied by a second black male with a dark complexion.
