BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WKZO) --  State Police have released the names of two Amish women who were in a buggy that was rear-ended in Branch County north of Quincy Tuesday evening.   58-year-old Amy Eicher died at the scene.  Her 22-year-old daughter, who carries the same name suffered broken ribs and was reported in fair condition.   

The 21-year-old driver told Troopers that he was driving on Jonesville Road, coming up on the buggy in his pick-up and pulling around to pass the slower moving carriage when the horse got spooked and stepped into his path.  Accident investigators are trying to verify if that’s what happened and it will be up to the Prosecutor to decide if charges or citations are warranted.
