LANSING, MI (WHTC News) - Although court challenges are expected, the congressional and legislative redistricting plan drafted by majority Republicans in Lansing was signed into law by Governor Snyder yesterday. Under the plan, incumbent Congressional Democrats Sander Levin and Gary Peters would have their suburban Detroit districts merged, leading to a possible run against each other next year. Locally, most of Allegan County would now be represented by Fred Upton in Washington and Tonya Schuitmaker in the state Senate.
