Here's the situation -- when we think of our lovable, ab-obsessed Jersey Shore star, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, the words classy and formal don't really come to mind, but apparently one tuxedo company thinks differently. A New York-based formal wear manufacturer is confident that the reality star will be good for business. Reportedly, Sorrentino just signed on to a six-figure deal with FLOW Formal to develop a line of tuxedos and formal wear ""for a younger demographic."" According to the company's CEO, Brian Weintraub, "[Tuxedos have] become an old man thing."" If they wanted to bring sexy back to tuxedos they should have called Justin Timberlake, not a guy who spends more time with his shirts off than on.
Regardless, the company hopes the celeb's worldwide popularity will help boost the appeal to the tuxedo industry. The line will become available in February 2012 and includes tuxes, slim fit shirts, and accessories (place your bets if you think these will end up being tear-away tuxes). What will the new line be called? Yes, it's what you feared -- the line will indeed be called The Situation. How fitting.
Of course, Sorrentino is no stranger to this business. He already has a line of t-shirts, workout videos, a liquor sponsorship, and a book deal. And now apparently tuxedos are his forte. The only thing more ridiculous than this would be if Snooki started making prom dresses.
